Brodie Burris MSTCM, Dipl.Ac., CMT
Drawing from his extensive background in Eastern Healing Arts,
Brodie Burris offers treatments which address not only the symptoms,
but the entire well being of his patients. Currently in his ninth
year of practice integrating Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Qigong,
Moxabustion, and Therapeutic Massage, he develops a unique and comprehensive
program of treatment for each person. His on-site Herbal Pharmacy
consists of over 200 raw Chinese Herbs, from which he custom crafts
formulas for each individual.
Brodie holds a Master's of Science from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. This four-year course of study and supervised clinical experience covered both Western and Oriental models of disease, as well as the application of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Therapeutic Massage and adjunctive therapies such as Moxibustion and Cupping. The American College's program is one of the most respected and rigorous of its kind.
In 1997 Brodie earned a Diploma in Acupuncture from the National
Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
He is an active member of the Michigan Association of Oriental Medicine
as well as the American Association of Oriental Medicine. Brodie
is a graduate of the Healing Arts Institute in Sacramento, California
where he first became certified in Massage in 1993. He later became certified
in Tui Na, a chinese Medical model massage at the ACTCM. He began
his studies of massage with Okazaki restorative massage in his youth
as a part of his martial arts training. Brodie holds a Bachelor's
Degree in Liberal Arts with a major in psychology from Albion College
in Albion, Michigan.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as studying Martial and Internal Arts. He is a certified instructor of Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu, teaching out of his Dojo the Shoshin Judokai of Ann Arbor. Brodie also teaches workshops in massage for the laymen and lectures on Oriental Medicine in a wide range of venues.
