Reiki  is a Japanese word that means universal life force energy.  It is a non-intrusive method of hands-on healing that works with this universal energy to balance an individual’s energy system to bring healing to the whole person, mind, body, and emotions.  Medical research has shown that Reiki can assist with the following:

• Reduce pain, including cancer pain

• Improve immune and nervous system functioning

• Increase mobility in patients with diseases such as multiple schlerosis, fibromyalgia, and generalized joint pain

• Improve anxiety, depression, and stress

• Increase post-surgery healing rate

Reiki complements medical treatments, natural therapies, and massage therapy and is beginning to be practiced in many hospital environments.  There is currently a two-year $400,000 study funded by the National Institute for Health’s (NIH) Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, with work conducted by the Center for Urban Health Policy and Research at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, to study Reiki’s impact on people living with advanced AIDS.  The hope is that this study will “bridge the gap between conventional bio-medical care and complementary therapies” (Philadelphia Inquirer).
Energy clearing is a deeply relaxing technique that sweeps static, toxic energy from one’s energy field and replaces it with fresh, bright, clean energy.  It feels like shedding a suit of armor and then showering in white light—incredibly refreshing.
In addition to Reiki and Energy Clearing, Jeannie teaches a series of simple energy medicine exercises based on the work of Donna Eden, author of Energy Medicine.  You can do these exercises at home to build your immune system and increase your energy level.  On a personal note, Jeannie has only had a few colds and one bout with the flu in the past 10 years—she confidently credits her daily routines with her health and wellbeing.
