    brodie_burrisBrodie Burris, MSTCM Dipl. Ac., CMT is an Acupuncturist and Founder of The Lotus Center. He is the president of the Michigan Association of Oriental Medicine.

    As an Acupuncturist, Herbalist & clinical director of the Lotus Center, Brodie Burris has earned a distinguished reputation for his work in the field of Chinese Medicine. Drawing from his diverse training in eastern healing arts, he utilizes Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and Massage to develop a unique and comprehensive program of treatment for each person.   His personalized approach is one that combines his extensive training & clinical experience with compassion & commitment to his patients and their well being.  For over a decade he has built his successful practice on referrals from a broad base of health care providers as well as happy healthy patients.  This vast network of colleagues and patients is what ultimately led him to the creation of The Lotus Center.

    Training & Certification

    • 1998 – Brodie earned a  Master’s of Science degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.
    • 1997 – received a Diplomate  in Acupuncture( Dipl ac.) from The National Certification for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine
    • 1994 – Bachelor of Arts – Psychology -  Albion College, Albion MI
    • 1993 – Healing arts Institute – Sacramento, CA certified in Massage
    • Member of the American Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine

    Brodie’s  study of eastern healing arts began with Okazaki restorative massage in his youth as a part of his martial arts training.  He has studied Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu for the past 30 years, and as a certified instructor, loves to teach it in the Lotus Center Dojo.

    His spare time is spent in his favorite role as husband and dad.  Over the past 13 years he has become a professional spectator in the areas of: youth soccer, dance recitals, swim meets, cross country races, school plays and little league baseball.  He is also considered a household expert in the areas of: spider removal, algebra, superheroes, and hamster locating.

    Brodie teaches workshops in massage, introduction to meditation, and lectures on Oriental Medicine in a wide range of venues, including the University of Michigan Medical School, and the UM Faculty Scholars Program.
